Overview

Susurradores.com was a web platform designed for a company that planned to launch an online learning system where experienced LinkedIn professionals would share their knowledge with other users. The idea was to create an educational space with exclusive, well-structured, and accessible content. Unfortunately, despite being fully developed, the platform was never published on the web for unknown reasons.

My Role

As part of the development team at Nintera-Quadi, I had the opportunity to play a key role in building the frontend of the platform. While I wasn't directly involved in the overall design, I worked on developing several widgets and plugins within the site. My main responsibilities included:

• Implementing interactive components: I used technologies like GulpJS, Webpack, and TypeScript to build functional modules within the platform, ensuring optimal performance and a smooth user experience.
• Collaborating with the design team: The client requested multiple changes that directly affected the DOM structure, forcing us to rebuild certain sections from scratch. I actively participated in meetings between the development and design teams to coordinate these modifications and minimize unnecessary rework.
• Selecting tools and technologies: As part of my responsibilities, I contributed to choosing key technologies for frontend development and integrating them with OctoberCMS, which was to be the foundation of the project.

Although I didn’t work directly on the backend (PHP in this case), I maintained constant communication with the backend developers to ensure seamless integration between the frontend and system functionalities.

Impact

Even though the project never went live, the development process provided valuable lessons and set important precedents for the company on how to approach large-scale educational platforms. Some key takeaways included:

1. Optimizing the workflow: By implementing tools like Bitbucket and GulpJS, we structured an efficient development pipeline, allowing for fast iterations and smooth version control.
2. Improving interdisciplinary communication: Frequent meetings between design, development, and the client were essential in learning how to better manage change requests without compromising the project’s technical feasibility.
3. Enhancing UI/UX skills: Facing multiple layout changes helped me develop a better sense of anticipating potential implementation issues and negotiating viable solutions with the design team.
